100th Anniversary of End of World War 1

Public Footpaths
The popularity of the Award Land poster in Occasional 26, that described  freely available walks, seemed to justify this inclusion of the places in the parish where other publicly listed footpaths can be found and enjoyed.  There are many!

  Scarecrow Extravaganza  (2018)
Local school children will remember Polly Pots and  Tom-the-Tin-Man   from the visit these scarecrows made to their schools.  They  will be pleased to read that Polly  is back in her favourite garden and Tom is still in Church Road waving to passers-by.
If you are one of the many who took part, or one of the very many who smiled at one of their pals during the recent Parish Extravaganza, we all send you our thanks.

  Local Reuse and Recycling Events

Image result for uk recycling all symbolsThe Parish Council and North Somerset Council in partnership with 'Changing Lives' have organised a local reuse and recycling event to take place on Thursday 20th September from 8am to 12noon at Winscombe Community Centre.
Bring along any unwanted furniture and items that are suitable for reuse along with any small, broken or unwanted electrical items such as toasters and hairdryers. Items collected at this event will be checked by 'Changing Lives' then resold within their stores or taken to be recycled via recycling centres.

Future Deliveries of The Occasionalemail.jpg
Sometime in the future we hope to deliver this newsletter mainly by email.  In the meanwhile we have found a company which will deliver hard copies of the Occasional to a proportion of the houses in the Parish.  To the remainder we continue, with the help of the scouts,  to attempt to deliver by hand.
To speed up this process of converting nearly entirely all parishioners to email delivery, tell your friends to join up for an email delivery by using the following link.
