Thank you to everyone who attended our Vital and Viable session at the Conoco Rooms last night, another excellent turnout with a room full of people who are passionate about Louth and the potential within the town.

We are extremely committed to this project and after reviewing last night's discussions, along with your previous feedback, would like to propose that our main focus is split into two key priorities: Public Realm and Place Promotion.

This newsletter will become a regular way for us to keep you up to date with progress and ways you can get involved. We will also arrange an annual town forum meeting which will be open to all so share ideas and plans. We very much want to remind you that if you have a project you wish to take forward please talk to us if you feel we are able to support. Please also use this newsletter to share your group/project updates, using the contact details listed below.

Public Realm Strategy

We have delivered the Vital and Viable workshops in each of our market towns in East Lindsey.

There are some common themes which have emerged from each session, public realm being a key one. With this in mind we will be establishing a working group with colleagues across all three local authorities to ensure better communication around issues within the town centres and to create a Public Realm Strategy, which we will be sharing with you for comments.

Bus Station

The CIPM report highlighted the bus station as a key place to work on to improve the welcome of the town.

We have been speaking to colleagues to ensure that work to the clock tower is a priority.

We will commit to delivering better signage at the bus station to improve the welcome within the town. This will be part of a wider signage project.

Wooden Louth signs

Louth has seven hand carved and hand painted, oak welcome signs on each road leading into Louth, these are the responsibility of Louth Town Council.

These signs were installed in 1967 and are now all in need of complete restoration. The Town Council has commissioned a contractor who has completed the first sign. There is now a programme of works in place to repair all of the signs. For more information please contact the Town Council.

Food and Drink

Taste Lincolnshire will be working with volunteers from the group to look into joint promotions for the town and to encourage anyone in the area who grows, produces, sells and serves local produce to become part of Taste Lincolnshire to take advantage of their collaborative approach to marketing and supporting Lincolnshire's rich food offer.

Events

The group agreed that there needs to be more coordination and communication of programmed events in Louth throughout the year. Much of the current information is out of date and does little to encourage participation amongst residents and visitors alike. Several volunteers came forward to look at how social media could be created to support this. Event coordinators are also encouraged to upload their events onto the Love Lincolnshire Wolds website.

Heritage

Heritage is a strong theme for the town and it is clear that many participants from our meetings are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing the town's history.

We would like to ask anyone interested being part of a working group to explore options to better promote and support heritage events and interpretation to contact Samantha Phillips.
