Public Realm Strategy for our Market Towns...
We have recently met with colleagues at Lincolnshire County Council to begin work on this strategy. We will be looking at key themes across all towns and to identify key intervention sites in each town. We will be asking for your opinions and feedback during the process but please email Sam Phillips if you wish to make any initial suggestions. The strategy will include street furniture, signage alongside historic features.

Bus Station...
Louth Bus Station is experiencing an increase in anti-social behaviour at the moment and we are working with partners to ensure improved CCTV coverage in the area.
A number of repairs will be carried out on site shortly and we are also planning on carrying out external decorations including power washing of the existing walls and paved surfaces to remove the build-up of algae, which will be undertaken early in the new financial year.

Big Spring Clean...
Litter Free Louth are organising a town tidy day on Wednesday, April 1st from 10am-12pm. Everyone is welcome to get involved. Please meet at Louth Town Council, Sessions House, Eastgate, LN11 9AJ. Equipment and refreshments provided. No need to book, just turn up! Parking available. We are supporting this event alongside Lincolnshire Co-op and Louth Town Council.

Bunting...
We are working closely with the Louth Independent Traders to ensure bunting is hung in the Cornmarket and surrounding side streets in time for this year's town centre events.

Tickets are £15 each and proceeds will go to the Mayor's charity, which for this event is Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion. Tables of 10 are also available on request for £125.

Louth Teenage Market...
We are working with the team at Bishop Grosseteste University to bring the Teenage Market back to Louth on May 16th this year. Louth Flood - 100th Anniversary...
On the 29th May 1920, Louth witnessed one of its most devastating events in history. Freak rainfall caused flash flooding which tragically resulted in the death of 23 people and the devastation of 250 homes. This year marks 100 years since the Louth Flood and to mark the anniversary, the town will be organising a number of events over the weekend of the 29th-31st May. There will be historical walks taking place on the 29th and 30th at 4pm, hosted by local historian, Dr Richard Gurnham, as well as a remembrance service and wreath laying ceremony at The Flood Memorial in Louth Cemetery on Friday 29th May.  Louth Museum, St James Church, Spout Yard and Louth Town Council will also be showcasing exhibitions of artefacts and memorabilia from the historic event, starting on the 1st April. The Council is also hoping to purchase a commemorative plaque and a tree to be placed in a public position within the town (possibly Westgate Fields).
