Getting back to 'the new' normal…

As town centres start to resemble life pre-lockdown we are proud to see our local retailers following Government guidance in order to keep their employees and customers safe. We are committed to supporting retailers at this difficult time so you will shortly be seeing our Shop Local, Stay Safe, Be Kind banners and floor graphics go up around town centres. You can print out the poster here

The banners are funded through the Government's Re-Opening the High Street Safely Fund. We've also used this fund to contract a consultant to deliver a Shop Local, Stay Safe marketing campaign for Spilsby and our Vital and Viable market towns. This means that over the next few months you will see a number of press articles, 'Love Spilsby' social media and radio ads to celebrate our local independent retailers and show how they are keeping their customers safe. The key outcomes from this campaign are to inspire customer confidence and to remind people if they don't use their town centres they will lose them. We look forward to keeping you updated on this project and please get in touch if you would like your business to be part of it.

This newsletter will detail further support initiatives available to town centre businesses; including the Government's Eat Out to Help Out Scheme, Visit England's We're Good To Go mark and how to apply for a Pavement Licence.

We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Lisa Collins, our new Place Manager. Lisa was previously the Visit Lincs Coast Destination BID manager and prior to that the town manager in Skegness, so comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in Place Management. Lisa is looking forward to working alongside colleagues and businesses to build on the work already started through the Vital and Viable project.

Pavement Licences..
Lincolnshire County Council is working with us to make it easier for businesses to use areas of the highway for seating to allow their customers to social distance.
You can apply online for a free pavement licence and it will be determined in just ten working days or less, following consultation with local agencies and the public. This policy is also open to shop owners who may wish to place a stall on the street outside their premises.
