Levelling Up our district

The Government's Levelling Up Fund aims to drive investment in areas that have previously been left behind; supporting projects that have been identified as priorities by local stakeholders which will have a meaningful impact within their local area. This can include transport improvements, town centre investment and expanding an area's cultural offering.

You can read more about East Lindsey's bid here. We hope to hear if we have been successful in the Autumn.

Mini-Makeover for the Public Toilets

Funding has been agreed by East Lindsey District Council to enhance the appearance of the public toilets by carrying out a deep clean and improvements to fixtures and fittings. There are not enough funds in this year's budget for a full refurbishment but this should really help to make them cleaner and brighter.

The hunt is underway to find a location for a wall mural that will celebrate Horncastle and be an interesting attraction for visitors. A team is looking at options and speaking to freeholders to see if a suitable site can be found.

Bike and Motorbike parking

Local feedback suggested that more parking for bikes and motorcycles would be of benefit in the town. Horncastle Town Council and East Lindsey District Council are looking at the design of a dual-purpose rack and identifying location options that won't obstruct the Market Place.
