Alford Craft Market Expansion

Alford Craft Market is proud to announce the opening of an art gallery at 14a Market Place, Alford, LN13 9EB.

This spacious new venue has been refurbished by local businesses with the provision of grants from Alford Craft Market, Lincolnshire County Council, and East Lindsey District Council through our Vital and Viable project. It will be a welcome display space for selected local artists and for a programme of exhibitions by established artists, as well as touring exhibitions.

This modern and well-lit gallery will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am until 4pm and manned by our friendly and community minded volunteers.

Healthy You, Healthy Business

We've teamed up with Ophelia Gamble, the Rural Retailer, to deliver our retail support programme Healthy You, Healthy Business as a pilot in Spilsby and Alford.

Using years of experience, the team has worked with businesses to undertake a diagnostic to identify strengths and weaknesses, creating a tailored plan to take the business forward, offering practical advice and showing how the implementation of a few easy to follow steps can make a tangible and sustainable difference to a business.

Funded by the Government's Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, the programme is the latest initiative launched as part of our Vital and Viable project and ultimately seeks to regenerate the high street to boost local economies. The programme's pilot is now coming to an end in Alford, and we would like to thank the businesses who have taken part in the programme.

Levelling Up our district

The Government's Levelling Up Fund aims to drive investment in areas that have previously been left behind; supporting projects that have been identified as priorities by local stakeholders which will have a meaningful impact within their local area. This can include transport improvements, town centre investment and expanding an area's cultural offering.

We have submitted a bid to Government for this fund and in Alford, funding would support Alford Manor House with their existing National Lottery Heritage Funding bid for the creation of a new millwright visitor experience and extending its events offer. The funding would also see works to restore Alford Windmill back to working order and facilitate the creation of a visitor café/shop and holiday accommodation.

You can read more about East Lindsey's bid here. We hope to hear if we have been successful in the Autumn.
