£500K Government grant helps to boost health and wellbeing of Boston community
 
A partnership of organisations, volunteers and community leaders across the Borough of Boston have been working hard to support residents to benefit from a major health and wellbeing programme, following a grant of almost half a million pounds from the Government's Community Champions Fund.

The funding was secured by Boston Borough Council and is being used to deliver a focussed and collaborative programme of work through the Council-led scheme, 'Empowering Healthy Communities'.

The Great British Spring Clean 2021, from Keep Britain Tidy (KBT) 28 May to 13 June 2021

In 2020, our outdoor spaces and places have mattered to us more than ever before. They have been a sanctuary during challenging times, and from 28 May 2021, KBT will be calling on hundreds of thousands of #LitterHeroes to join in and show some love for those special places that helped us though lockdown.

KBT will provide all the advice and support necessary for everyone to safely take part in the Great British Spring Clean 2021.

Guildhall
Boston Guildhall Museum is delighted to share that from Wednesday 30th June 2021 they plan to reopen their doors to visitors in line with their normal opening hours without a pre-booking system but incorporating Covid safety guidance.

Right Thing, Right Bin
Residents of Boston Borough are being urged to put the #RightThing in the #RightBin following high levels of contamination in their blue recycling bins on our last collection. Bins were collected but tagged with information advising residents of the items that should not have been included.

One-Hour Free Shopper Parking Ticket
From the 1st of June 2021, the free one-hour shopper parking scheme, offered by the Council to support our local economy, will come to an end with the one-hour free shopper parking ticket no longer being available.  The Council has been really pleased to be able to offer this initiative for so long, in order to support local businesses for whom the last year has been so very tough.

Trace and Trace Support Payment
The government has introduced a grant to support people in work on low incomes to self-isolate
You may be able to claim a £500 lump sum payment if you cannot work from home and are required to self-isolate
This payment aims to help make up for any lost income people may face due to having to stay at home

Covid 19 - Rapid Testing
Free rapid COVID-19 home test kits are available for everyone. They give you peace of mind that you are protecting others around you.
If your lateral flow test is negative - remember you should continue to follow precautions such as hands, face, space.

Funding Boost to Ensure that Nobody Needs to Sleep Rough in Lincolnshire
Councils across Lincolnshire share a vision that homelessness should be rare, brief and non-recurring.
Lincolnshire Councils have been successful in their applications for further Government funding to continue providing help and support to prevent rough sleeping and to help people to exit the streets successfully.
