Calling all High Street Retailers…

Our Healthy You, Healthy Business programme, designed to support high street businesses, is now being rolled out in Horncastle.

We launched the Healthy You, Healthy Business earlier in the year to support retailers and high street businesses impacted by the effects of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions. The programme, which is delivered by Ophelia Gamble from the Rural Retailer, Wendy Walker from Ovy Design and their team, was initially introduced on a pilot basis in Spilsby and Alford.

Over the last six months, Ophelia, Wendy, and the team have successfully supported 15 businesses across the two towns, working closely with each business to understand their needs and developing tailored programmes of support in identified growth areas as they return to trading. Over the course of the programme, the team have supported businesses to revolutionise their retail offer, maximise their shop floor, level up their marketing, undertake rebranding, diversify their sales channels, and much more.

With the programme in Spilsby and Alford coming to a conclusion, the Healthy You, Healthy Business team are now bringing their support to Horncastle's high street, where six businesses will be able to apply for access to this programme.

Any high street business in Horncastle who feels in need of support can apply to join the scheme, to express an interest in being considered for the program, businesses can email Ophelia on opheliameansbusiness@gmail.com or call 07807 782469.

Love Your Local Market this October

East Lindsey is joining over 700 markets across the country to celebrate Love Your Local Market, a two-week long campaign celebrating the important role markets play within local communities.

Love Your Local Market is a national campaign led by the National Association of British Market Authorities which began in 2012, sparked by concern over the sustainability of England's high streets.

From 16th to 30th October a series of events will be run to promote the use of markets and encourage new traders to run stalls, offering anyone considering market trading the chance to give it a go.

Also, for our regular traders we will be running a Market Trader of the Year competition where our visitors will get a chance to vote for their favourite market trader and more.
