Councils marks Lincolnshire Day with launch of new Partnership
 

On Lincolnshire Day (Friday 1 October) three councils officially launched a new Partnership aimed at delivering ambitious growth and regeneration plans to 300,000 of its residents.

The South & East Lincolnshire Council Partnership (S&ELCP) – made up of South Holland District Council, East Lindsey District Council and Boston Borough Council – signed a Memorandum of Agreement earlier this week. A shared leadership team is also in place which will now start to develop a plan of delivery which will include three Towns Fund deals and a capital programme expected to reach almost £200m.

The Partnership has appointed Rob Barlow as its Chief Executive to spearhead a Senior Leadership Team which will be shared across all three authorities.

The Historic Places Panel visit Boston to Provide Insights and Suggestions on the Town's Future
On the Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th of September, Historic England hosted their Places Panel in Boston.

The Historic Places Panel is made up of 17 influential members (previously known as the Urban Panel) to provide a broad spectrum of independent expertise to help local authorities and others engage in the regeneration and revitalisation of historic places.

Council Tax Support Scheme – Have your say!
We need your views on our proposed Council Tax Support Scheme for 2022/23. The Council Tax Support scheme is a way of helping people on low or no income pay their Council Tax bill. Each year the Council must decide whether to change the scheme for working age applicants in the area.

Open Coffee Evening to discuss all waste and fly-tipping issues
Everyone welcome at The White Hart Hotel Wednesday 6th October 6.30pm to 8pm. Fed up, want your say, feel you're not being listened to? Why not come along to Our Open Coffee evening. Everyone very welcome to exchange views, ask questions, expect answers, offer ideas and suggestions. Tea and Coffee will be provided and maybe a biscuit.



 
 
Vehicles seized - clampdown on illegal waste activities in Lincolnshire
Environment Agency staff joined forces for two days with officers from Lincolnshire Police, Boston Borough Council, HMRC and DVSA in Operation Clean Sweep. The Environment Agency co-ordinated Operation Clean Sweep which has prevented the illegal disposal of 10 tonnes of construction waste, as well as the seizure of 3 vehicles.

Green fingered partnership receive 6th gold award

A group of horticultural volunteers have recently been awarded their sixth gold award in a regional competition. Boston in Bloom, made up of local residents who volunteer hours each week to improve and enhance the visual image of the borough, have recently been awarded their sixth gold award in the annual East Midlands in Bloom competition. The Big Boston Survey

Boston are in receipt of nearly half a million pounds from the Government's Community Champions fund. The money will help to support a new one year programme and aid in diversification, community engagement and focus on building trust and confidence in public information and sharing. All residents are now being offered the chance to have their say on local needs and investment.

New air freshener campaign to remind road users to stay safe

Lincolnshire Police's new road safety campaign will urge drivers to "Belt up. Hang up. Ease up." every time they step inside their vehicle. They're offering free air fresheners for members of the public, with each featuring a simple message to give people pause for thought before they set off on their journey.

Boston Borough Council launches #BeBoston Campaign to inspire community pride

Boston Borough Council is inviting Bostonians from all backgrounds to pledge support to its campaign, #BeBoston, in an effort to celebrate the market town's multicultural community. As part of its Pride of Place initiative, the campaign will seek to foster a sense of pride across Boston and its borough, as well as to build stronger relationships between UK-born Bostonians and the borough's diverse community of established citizens from predominantly Eastern European countries. Boston Town Area Committee helps to fund Rhubarb Theatre's Dustbin Doris

Dustbin Doris is the latest theatre production by Rhubarb Theatre that secured funding of £1000 through the Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) Grant scheme earlier this year. The BTAC Grant scheme allowed Rhubarb Theatre to cover the costs of the filmography to promote the play and the creation of a free online Environmental Arts Activity Pack aimed at helping all KS2 primary children in Lincolnshire learn the importance of looking after their environment. Boston's Mayor and Mayoress join My Lock Up Boston for Ground-Breaking Ceremony!

The Mayor and Mayoress attend ground-break at My Lockup situated on the Boardsides in Boston to commemorate new building works. Kevin Doyle, an investor from Yorkshire, started My Lockup in 2008 and expanded to Boston in 2018. The self-storage business provides private storage rooms that are protected by CCTV with monitored alarms and a modern security system which allows access to customers through a programmed ID fob.
