Are you simply the best start-up? (...or do you know who is?)

If you or someone you know is behind an amazing new early stage or start-up business, now's your chance to shout about it and gain some invaluable business-boosting profile.  As sponsors of the 'Best New Start-up' Category for this year's business awards, run by Richmond Chamber of Commerce and The Richmond and Twickenham Times, we want to support and celebrate the borough's rich entrepreneurial spirit.  Simply fill in the simple online form answering a few questions about what you've done and how. Entry window closes 30th Sept; winners announced at the gala dinner on 16th November. Good luck!

Money for nothing? Not quite. £3000 to boost your internet speed

The Government's Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme can contribute up to £3000 to help businesses install a gigabit capable fibre connection.  Vouchers can be combined with others to subsidise the cost of installation too. Engagement in the scheme is via suppliers. Find out more and search suppliers here.

Nothing going on but the rent?
(…or lease, or freehold, or contract)

We're working with enterprise agency NWES to help provide support through those tricky moments when negotiating or renegotiating a lease, or searching for premises.  Two-hour sessions are available with a local property expert and you'll benefit from expert guidance and how to avoid common pitfalls. Places are limited and you'll just have to complete a short online application. Once you have been offered a place, you'll arrange to meet with a property expert.  We're also hoping to provide a local workshop later in the year – email us if you're interested in these.  More information and tools available via the London Growth Hub.

It's all about the work space, man...

Given how difficult it can be to find cost-effective workspace, we're working with Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College and RCVS to explore creative solutions.  If you have spare work space that you'd like to earn income from, or if you'd like to make use of spare space for businesses, charity or creative uses, for any amount of time, we want to know. This could be a desk, office, room, kitchen, meeting room or other space.  Completing our short survey will help us help you!  In the meantime, check out www.sharemyspace.uk as an example of platforms to support this.
