We notified schools in the last Password issue that as a result of reviewing the Online Safety service and feedback from existing customers, all Scomis customers with a Scomis SLA will receive an Online Safety Newsletter each half-term as a part of their service entitlement for a trial period of one year.

Autumn Upgrade - has been released and Hosted SIMS and FMS was upgraded to the Autumn release on the weekend beginning 16th November. For more information on the what was included and links to FAQs on upgrading through Solus 3, please refer to our FAQ. | | | | GDPR Bulk Deletion - Capita have completed work on the Bulk Deletion of Student Data with the ability to delete data in 15 fields for pupils who are no longer in the school. Routines – Pupil – Bulk Delete Pupil Data. Please see our FAQ. Currently we can delete data for pupils who left 4 or more years ago, i.e. from Academic Year 2014-15. The Spring 2019 upgrade will introduce the "delete all student data" function for a selection of leavers and enhancements to the deletion of staff data. | | | | | | | Key Stage Analysis – How well are you able to provide in-depth analysis of statutory assessments from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4? Capita have provided resources for schools and Scomis can assist either through remote support sessions or via onsite consultancy. For more information please see our FAQ.
Staff Performance – How do you currently track Staff Performance? This is an additional chargeable module from Capita which schools can use to track appraisals, objectives and CPD. Housekeeping – SIMS has several housekeeping routines, which can be run periodically to streamline data to avoid double entry and slower searches for more information on the different routines click here and to watch our video click here. | | | | | | Exams Update – The Autumn 2018 Examinations Newsletter which can be found on the link below contains the Exams 2018 Season Review, latest information on the next generation of Exams and two NEW courses for Examination Officers click here | | | | | Options Online - The next generation of Options has been available since September 2017 and is part of a secondary school's SIMS licence. We are offering training courses for the second year running on this module – click here if you'd like to find out more. More courses will be offered in the new year. SIMS Finance – SIMS Finance is Capita's new solution to streamline financial management across an academy or multi-academy trust, providing you with a complete and consolidated picture of your finances. This provides one view of the data and is designed to meet the operational and reporting needs at central trust level and individual school level easily and graphically. This integrates with SIMS 7 and is GDPR compliant. Workflow elements allow you to ensure budget holders approve at the correct levels and that school policies on authorising threshold amounts are adhered to. The latest version now offers personnel links (similar to those in FMS) and central BACs payments amongst other improvements. The product roadmap offers a Tax Digital solution in 2019, along with a version for maintained schools and federations. We have completed our Support Unit training for this product and already have 2 MAT customers using it live, with others evaluating for future use. We can offer advice and have a demo site or alternatively you can visit SIMS Finance for a demonstration video and brochure. SIMS Parent Lite – Included within your SIMS Annual Entitlement fee, SIMS Parent Lite app helps schools comply with GDPR guidelines, by allowing parents to easily update information for their children and their contact details. Dear Rod, The Service Desk will be open as usual up until Friday 21st December. We will be open on Monday 24th from 9am - 3:30pm.
