East Midlands Chamber Survey for Q1
East Midlands Chamber is asking for your help in completing the first Quarterly Economic Survey of 2020. The survey takes around 5 minutes.

Findings from the last survey suggest an economy holding its breath ahead of the General Election. This survey's findings will show how businesses locally have responded to the outcome of that election and the UK's subsequent departure from the EU at the end of January.

Importantly, with a new political agenda emphasizing the importance of regions outside of London and the South East, your responses to this survey will help inform local and national politicians on how the East Midlands is performing - the opportunities we have for greater growth here and the challenges our businesses require support on.

This new decade brings with it a new Government with a large mandate and some important decisions to take.

Results will be shared with respondents later in March. If you would like to discuss the Chamber's policy work then please feel free to contact the team at policy@emc-dnl.co.uk.

Joining Forces Event

The armed forces community have a wealth of transferable skills and qualities they can bring as employees. Join us to discover the strength of these skills and how you can help to support veterans and reservists in the workplace.

You will have the chance to sign your own, tailored Armed Forces Covenant at the event, pledging how you choose to support your existing, or future potential employees, within the armed forces community. This is a great opportunity to build a reputation as a forces-friendly organisation.

You can also learn about the Employment Recognition Scheme (ERS). This scheme acknowledges employers who are providing exceptional support to veterans, serving personnel, reservists and family members of those in the armed forces. Those who are successful in achieving this can gain access to free training opportunities to help develop the skills of staff, such as Leadership and Management courses. A Gold ERS organisation will join us to share their experience.

The invite is open to any employer in the Harborough district such as businesses, shops, schools, manufacturers, care homes, logistics firms, security firms, medical centres, dentists, or others.

Join us Monday 16th March 2020 - 6pm for welcome drinks and light refreshments

6:30pm - 7:40pm
