Important Feedback – Standard Industrial Classifications & Valuation Office
Through administering the current round of Covid business support grants, the Economic Team have come across a number of businesses for which their current business classification are either out of date, or no longer reflect the full extent of their businesses.

As a result, a number of them may be missing out on vital Covid support funding.

It is important that businesses regularly review their:
  • Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code - this is the information which is help by Companies House to describe what a business does.
  • Valuation Office description  - which is the information that influences your business rates registration.
