Scam Letter - Offer from BEIS of Subsidised Covid Air Purification Devices
image.

A Government department has issued a scam alert over fraudulent letters being sent to businesses about fake coronavirus rules and regulations.

Bogus letters headed with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial strategy (BEIS) logo have been sent to businesses claiming they need to purchase air purifiers to comply with Covid-19 regulations.

In a recent tweet  the BEIS said: "We are aware of scammers sending BEIS headed letters to businesses telling them that, by law, they need to purchase air purifiers to comply with Covid19 rules.

"This is not true. If you receive a letter, please report it to Action Fraud UK."

You can report fraud or cybercrime to Action Fraud any time of the day or night using its online reporting tool.
