Leicestershire Local Skills Improvement Plan - Have your say
Logistics, manufacturing and sports/physical activity related sector employers are sought in Leicester/Leicestershire to take part in the Local Skills Improvement Plan. Through a minimal time investment, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of skills and training provision to ensure it meets your needs as a business.

All you have to do is answer 1-2 short questions per day for up to three months. These will be a mixture of multiple choice, YES/NO and free text questions, designed to minimise the amount of time required to respond to no more than a couple of minutes per day. They want to hear from as many people as possible - this could include frontline staff, operations and support staff, team leaders, managers, HR departments or learning & development professionals.

Employers participating in this phase of the LSIP will have exclusive early access to current data and trends in the logistics sector and will play a part in ensuring that future knowledge, skills and behaviour requirements are provided within the county.

Improve your recruitment and retention!
The Sector-based Work Academy Programme (SWAP) is designed to help people who are interested in working for your organisation to build the skills and confidence required for your roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to recruit from a pool of motivated and committed candidates.

Participants will complete a short relevant course such as customer service skills, or more practical courses such as working in the construction or security industries. This course would be delivered by a training provider who would liaise with you regarding the most useful skills for your vacancies, and to involve you if possible with giving an overview of your roles to the candidates. A SWAP can last from 1 to 6 weeks dependent on employer requirements and is free of charge.
You the employer would benefit from a pool of candidates who have already demonstrated a commitment to work by completing this course. The ask is that you would offer an interview to the course completers.

Join an Employer Information session on Sector Based Work Academies to be held on MS Teams, Thursday 27th January from 12pm to 1pm.
