STEM Summer Schools 2022

For Year 12 Students studying STEM subjects at A-Level
To enable your students to get an appreciation of studying a STEM subject at degree level we offer summer schools in Biological Sciences, Food Science & Nutrition and Mathematics.

We are hoping that the 2022 Summer Schools will be a mix of online sessions in-person activities on campus

Applications will open shortly. For now, please  express your interest in our summer schools and we will contact you as soon as applications open.

Medicine – Not Just About Medics 
Tuesday 29th March 2022 at University of Leeds
For Year 9 & 10 students. 
Our Medicine – Not Just About Medics event is designed to introduce students to HE study, and what studying a medicine / a medical related course at University would be like.

The event includes academic taster sessions (delivered by academic colleagues or current students) and general information about progression to HE. Your students will explore medical related subjects available at University and participate in three different practical's from subjects across STEM, discovering other medically related research areas and degree programs at the University of Leeds.

Teachers should request places for groups of Year 9 & Year 10 students. (Maximum of 10 students & 2 members of staff per group)

Leeds Mathematics Conference

Thursday March 17th 2022

The Leeds Mathematics Conference on the 17th March is an opportunity to reconnect in person with colleagues from across the region and hear from our range of expert speakers who will explore the theme of 'Representation and Structure'. The programme includes cross-phase content from the early years through to key stages 5 with an incredible line up including Mark McCourt, Amy How, Jonathan Hall, Dr Chris Pritchard, The West Yorkshire hub and many more!

Fluid Dynamics Photography Competition
The University of Leeds is pleased to invite KS3 students to explore the wonders of everyday fluid dynamics by submitting a photograph, video or GIF alongside a description (max 200 words).
