N.B This summer school is organised by colleagues in the faculty of Engineering, it is not a STEM outreach summer school.
SatSchool is an outreach project developed by a group of SENSE CDT PhD students who received funding through an 'Engaging the Public with Environmental Science' grant last autumn. Over the past few months they created a school outreach pack called SatSchool, targeted at KS3 pupils and aiming to inspire the next generation of environmental researchers.
The outreach pack comprises six modules across Earth Observation (EO) disciplines (Intro to EO, Getting Hands on With Data, Cryosphere, Atmosphere, Biosphere and Oceans) and contains over 12 hours' worth of interactive resources and activities that are ready to use and freely available for staff and students to take into schools. Materials are tied to the KS3 curriculum across STEM disciplines, and ensure pupils have an opportunity to develop their digital skills
