Candidates requirements and priorities have changed, so businesses need to adapt in order to attract and retain talent.

Enterprise Advisers needed to inspire young people
in Leicestershire schools

Local businesses are being asked to inspire local school pupils and young people to success - through helping them find the career path that is right for them.

In a changing labour market, young people continue to need support and inspiration to help them succeed. Speed of change in industry can make it hard for young people to be confident about finding the right future career.

That is why the LLEP (Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership) is working on an ambitious campaign, alongside the Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC), to recruit more than 10 new volunteer Enterprise Advisers (EAs).

EAs provide an employer's perspective on industry and help shape how a school or college embeds labour market information and opportunities into its careers programme. The programme increases engagement between young people and industry and helps form long-term plans on raising students' career aspirations.

EAs make a positive difference to young lives and give back to their communities. They help open the eyes of students to the range of career possibilities available to them. Such real-world business insights are invaluable, and help to shape not just careers education, but entire lives.

The LLEP is looking for business professionals from all working backgrounds and industry sectors to volunteer. EAs are matched with a local secondary school or college's leadership team and work strategically to bridge the gap between the worlds of work and careers education.

Register below to attend the LLEP's online briefing on Wednesday 7th September or request a call-back from a team member.
