Energy Support for Businesses

Through a new government Energy Bill Relief Scheme, the government will provide a discount on wholesale gas and electricity prices for all non-domestic customers (including all UK businesses, the voluntary sector like charities and the public sector such as schools and hospitals) whose current gas and electricity prices have been significantly inflated in light of global energy prices. This support will be equivalent to the Energy Price Guarantee put in place for households.

It will apply to fixed contracts agreed on or after 1 April 2022, as well as to deemed, variable and flexible tariffs and contracts. It will apply to energy usage from 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023, running for an initial 6 month period for all non-domestic energy users. The savings will be first seen in October bills, which are typically received in November.

Investing in your local community

VASL is a local charity based in Market Harborough, providing services and projects to improve the lives of people in our wider community across Harborough District and Leicestershire. These include support for family carers, people with mental health challenges, and older people who are lonely and isolated.

Different VASL projects provide volunteer transport to get people to medical appointments and out to community activities. VASL provides tools and information to decrease loneliness and increase mental well-being. VASL is a volunteer-involving organisation and most of the work is delivered by trained volunteers.

Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, share your expertise and make friends whilst giving back to the community. VASL’s volunteering opportunities are designed to be fun and rewarding and they’ll always enable you to make the most of them.

Free training and support are provided. Have a look and see if any of these volunteering opportunities appeal to you / your staff.

If you are interested in any of the volunteering opportunities, please contact the relevant project.

VASL would be grateful to hear from you and work together to make a positive difference.
