Join forums and help influence future of town | The Harborough Town Hub, is a community led, non-party political volunteer group, which is creating Neighbourhood Plans in Market Harborough, with the support of Harborough District Council.
What does this mean for Market Harborough Businesses? By contributing to the development of a Neighbourhood Plan, the business community in Market Harborough town centre would be helping to determine the future of the heart of the town. By getting involved, local businesses, alongside members of the community, will have the opportunity to influence the local character and maintain what is special about the centre of Market Harborough. The Plan will help to determine neighbourhood priorities for the Town Centre, relating to a range of social, economic and environmental issues, and could include support for initiatives such as: shop front enhancements, town centre signage improvements or the development of community facilities.
To make this a meaningful plan, which sits alongside the Market Harborough Town Centre Masterplan, the whole business community needs to get involved with its production.
What are the next steps? The Harborough Town Hub is arranging a meeting for people who live or work in the centre of Market Harborough to come along and gain an understanding of the process.
Register your interest by emailing neighbourhoodplans@harborough.gov.uk and keep an eye out for an email informing the group of when the next meeting will be. | GET IN TOUCH |

A big welcome to Design375 Ltd | Meet Design376 Ltd, the newest resident at the Harborough Innovation Centre (HIC). After looking at other venues the Design 375 team settled on the fantastic facilities at the HIC. We asked them what specifically drove them to make their decision….
What is it about the HIC that has motivated you to base your business here? The opportunity to be based alongside and network with other businesses was the main draw, for a start-up like ourselves making connections is essential and the HIC gave us a friendly and approachable feeling from the get-go. To be part of a network of businesses that we could add value to was a particular incentive. From a financial perspective everything is also very straight-forward and simple to understand, with affordable set costs that are easy to budget for – just what we need at this stage of our journey. The location and facilities here are also excellent, the whole infrastructure is really geared up to help businesses establish and grow.
How has your experience been throughout your move to the centre, from your initial enquiry to your physical move in day? Having looked at a few other venues beforehand we had a good idea of what to expect and where we envisaged ourselves. Carly, Tim, and the team at the HIC went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the get-go and ensured we had all of the information we needed. Whether it was showing us around having arrived early or lending us some furniture (so that we weren’t sat on the floor!) we cannot speak highly enough of the team here, it really is a community spirit with a can-do attitude where nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.
What services do you offer? Straight-Forward Graphic & Website Design Services. As a multi-discipline design company and our team has many years of professional industry experience and we are proud to have worked with clients of all shapes and sizes across a wide variety of industries, providing design services in: PRINT DESIGN – Brochures, Business Cards, Signage & Point of Sale, Vehicle Liveries DIGITAL DESIGN – Social Media Content, Email Marketing, Image Editing, Presentations WEB DESIGN – Website Design, Web Development, Domain & Email Hosting, WordPress BRANDING – Logo Design, Colour Schemes, Iconography & Brand Guidelines

Could your employees be Volunteer Telephone Befrienders? | The Wellbeing Befriending project at VASL is actively recruiting volunteers from all walks of life. Volunteers will each support an adult who is experiencing mental health challenges with a weekly phone call. Volunteers make the call from the comfort of their own home and are reimbursed with the costs of calls. A volunteer can expect full training and continued support along the way. Which includes wellbeing sessions, and chance to meet with other volunteers. VASL can act as a reference for anyone in search of employment too.
The service supports anyone over the age of 18 who is experiencing mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression. Most of our volunteers join with some understanding of mental health issues, whether through lived experiences or from an employment or volunteering role. The key skills we look for are being a great communicator over the phone, to be approachable whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
Volunteers can be based anywhere as long as they have access to a phone in a confidential space. VASL are looking for volunteers to commit to at least 6 months and to have about an hour each week to commit to the befriending calls. VASL would love to hear from anyone in the community who has an interest in helping others and would like to know more about telephone befriending.
Please email wellbeing@vasl.org.uk or call 01858 456042. | | FIND OUT MORE |
