We want your views on our proposed budget for the coming financial year.

The draft 2022/ 23 budget looks to secure our financial position following the COVID-19 pandemic, including investment waste and leisure service and delivering the transformational towns fund projects in Mablethorpe and Skegness, whilst still supporting local residents, businesses and communities through the delivery of high-quality services.

Green waste subscriptions now open

You can now renew or subscribe online for your green waste collection and those who sign up online will get the chance to win a year's free subscription.

To enter just renew or sign-up to the service online by February 20, 2022 and you could be one of 12 households who receive a free subscription.

Affordable Housing developments are on track

Six properties funded from the Community Led Housing scheme have reached completion and are providing local families much needed suitable accommodation.
The properties provide housing for the benefit of the local community and were allocated to local families through our housing register.

Omicron variant support grant opens

The Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant, aimed at supporting
businesses in the hospitality, leisure, & accommodation sectors most impacted by the Covid-19 Omicron variant, is now open to eligible businesses in East Lindsey. The application form and the eligibility criteria for the scheme is available below.

Binbrook Flood Alleviation Scheme  completed

A flood alleviation scheme to prevent ground water flooding has been completed in Binbrook.

The works will help to ensure that three homes, an industrial estate, Binbrook Fire Station and the public highway and footpaths are protected from any future floods.

Steeping River Update - Dredging starts again this month

Targeted dredging started again this month between the western railway bridge and the layby on the B1195 near Wainfleet. Partners concluded this forms part of the actions that can be taken to reduce flood risk in this area, alongside others including grass cutting and weed clearance. The dredging only became possible, thanks to contributions from East Lindsey District Council, Lindsey Marsh Drainage Board, Lincolnshire County Council and the Environment Agency. Phase 1, completed last year, saw a total of 55,000 cubic metres of silt removed. Phase 2 is expected to be finished in March.

Commonwealth Games 2022 - Batonbearer Nominations

As part of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, Batonbearers are needed to take on the special experience of carrying the Queen's Baton through England in summer 2022.

If you or someone you know meet one or more of the following criteria, you could get involved:
  • Always willing to take on a challenge and has a unique and inspiring story;
  • Has made a meaningful contribution to sport, education, the arts, culture, or charity;
  • Is a figure of inspiration that positively challenges others to achieve their best;
  • Has taken on a challenge or cause and made a positive impact within their community.
The Queen's Baton Relay will travel to every region in England, before arriving at the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on 28 July 2022. Find out more or make a nomination here.
