Council Tax Energy Bill Rebate

The Government has recently announced measures to help households with rising energy bills, including a £150 council tax energy rebate. Households in Council Tax bands A to D will be eligible.

The one-off payment, which does not need to be repaid, was announced by the Government last month. These payments will be able to go directly into the bank accounts of those who pay by direct debit, whilst those who are not signed up will receive a letter from the Council providing details on how to apply online or over the phone for the £150.

Council Approves 2022/23 Budget

Councillors acknowledged that the unprecedented challenges faced by all residents and businesses in the district in 2021/22, has continued into 2022/23. 

In March Council approved a budget that aims to support communities across the District by delivering a range of projects, including those within the £50m Town Deals that have been secured from Government for Mablethorpe and Skegness; and environmental improvements through a Pride Street Cleaning team.

New Community Lottery scheme to support local charities

Community groups and charities in the area are set to benefit from a new local lottery scheme launching later this year.

The scheme, being led by South Holland District Council alongside Boston Borough Council and East Lindsey District Council as part of the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership, will raise extra funding for local community-based initiatives across the sub-region.

Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival Programme Released

The newly launched Festival Programme is jampacked with varied events and activities taking place throughout the Festival, which runs from April 30 to June 5.

Whether it's a steady stroll through the fields, a challenging cycle through the hills or some heart racing high rope adventures, there's something for everyone in the Festival this year.

Funding has been secured in East Lindsey to improve toilet facilities for disabled people 

The Government announced the Changing Places Fund Prospectus in July 2021 which encouraged Councils to apply for their local areas to increase the number of Changing Place Toilets (CPTs) in venues with the greatest need.

East Lindsey District Council will receive £300,000 for up to 8 CPTs which will delivered in partnership with the charity Muscular Dystrophy UK, co-chairs of the Changing Places Consortium.

Holiday Activities And Food Programme  
 

The Holiday Activities and Food programme (HAF) is a Government funded programme to provide school-aged children on benefits related free school meals in England with access to free healthy meals and activities over the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays. There are a variety of activities at each club, from fun and games, sports, arts & crafts, cooking, music, drama and much more. All the clubs include a choice of healthy meals.
