What is new in the May 2023 elections?

The Election Act 2022 was granted Royal Assent and passed into law on 28 April 2022, and this will bring significant changes to the way elections are run. One of the most significant changes is that you will need to show photographic identification (ID) when you attend a polling station to cast your vote.

Household Support Fund launched in South and East Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Community Foundation will be distributing vital funds of up to £300 to individuals and families, who have not received any cost of living support, to those living in Boston Borough, or the districts of East Lindsey and South Holland. Funding originates from UK Government via the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership's Household Support Scheme.

We recognised there are many households across these areas who are finding themselves in financial hardship or just about managing, but do not qualify for any other benefit or income support. Support will be given in the form of vouchers for food, fuel and other essential living costs/items.

South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership receive additional Green Homes Grant funding

image.

Additional funding has been secured to support more properties across South and East Lincolnshire with grants for energy efficiency improvements.

The Partnership is already undertaking works on around 200 properties across the sub-region under the Local Authority Delivery

(LAD3) scheme but now has capacity to support more households. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (ESNZ) - formerly BEIS - has confirmed the current LAD3 scheme will be the last round of support for properties with a mains gas connection so it is an opportunity to help additional properties before the funding stream closes.

The Sustainable Warmth Team would be delighted to hear from homeowners and landlords that would like to take advantage of the grant which is available to improve the energy efficiency of your home. Grants of up to £10,000 will be available to owner-occupiers with no contribution required. Grants of up to £5,000 will also be available to landlords although landlords are required to fund one third of the cost of works themselves. Grant funding is limited so please don't delay in contacting us.

To be eligible for the grant, your property must have an Energy Performance Rating of E, F or G and a household income of less than £31k or in receipt of certain benefits.
